  • The Rich Cream from Augustinus Bader is hailed as an exceptional anti-aging moisturizer, acclaimed for its effectiveness. Its formula, featuring the innovative TFC8 technology, is designed to rejuvenate the skin, leveraging a blend of active ingredients to promote the skin’s natural repair processes. But beyond the product descriptions, let’s examine the real-life impacts of this cream based on customer reviews.

    Brand Claims vs. Customer Reviews

Claim: 97% agreed that skin’s tone and texture looks dramatically transformed

Customers Say: True. Users consistently report that upon application, the cream imparts a hydrating and supple sensation to the skin. Many observe a significant improvement in skin firmness, typically noticeable within three weeks of use, although individual results may vary.

Claim: Clinically proven to reduce the signs of aging

Customers Say: True. Reviews often highlight that around five weeks into usage, there is a noticeable reduction in deep-set wrinkles and frown lines. Additionally, users mention a decrease in skin redness, contributing to a more even and balanced complexion.

Claim: Suitable for all skin types

Customers Say: Partly true. The cream’s rich composition of antioxidants and essential fatty acids makes it particularly beneficial for dry skin, and it is also well-suited for normal skin types. A standout feature is its non-greasy feel, which users appreciate, attributing it to the fast-absorbing formula. However, its thicker consistency may not be ideal for those with oily skin types.

    Most Helpful 5* Customer Review

“Let me preface this by saying that at age 34 I’m JUST now starting to appreciate the value of skincare and have began treating my skin well. That being said, this cream is…. A LIFE CHANGER! The price is terrifying if I’m being honest, but after using for a solid month, if my skin could talk, it would thank me. My once dry and full skin is now radiant and perfectly moisturized. I have braved the town with a bare face after my new Augustinus Bader regimen and it’s been so freeing. The price point is an investment, but I’ve never used a product that gave such immediate and drastic results. I plan to budget to make this a staple in my skincare routine.”

    Most Helpful 1* Customer Review

“What’s the hype all about here? I expected my skin to be at least more hydrated after reading all these superlative reviews. Yes, the cream is thick and your skin will feel hydrated after you apply it. But that’s it. In the morning my skin will still feel dry and thirsty for a new dose of the cream.”

It contains a unique blend of ingredients, including the brand’s signature “Miracle Broth” which is said to have regenerative properties.

Creme de la Mer is marketed as a solution for various skin concerns such as dryness, fine lines, and wrinkles. It has a luxurious, spa-like scent and leaves a silky, smooth finish on the skin. Despite its high price tag, it is a popular choice among beauty enthusiasts and has a loyal following.

“Firstly I wasn’t convinced by the reviews..I mean celebrities may well rave about different creams…but they get a personal chef, a make up artist and on tap spa treatments to ensure their skin is in super condition. Then I tried the cream.. Apart from the fact it smells like nappy rash cream, my skin was clearer than it has been in years within one week of using it. I’m spot free and everybody tells me I have a healthy glow and an amazing complexion. One pot lasts an age, so it has actually been cheaper for me to buy one pot of this, than to buy a suitcase full of different products for different areas of my face each month!”

“The La Mer moisturizer does not “melt” when warmed up on the fingers prior to spreading on your face. It is thick, and does not readily absorb, leaving my skin sticky before going to sleep. The fragrance is not my favorite, but it’s not offensive. I purchased the smallest quantity, and given the price, I will continue to use it until it’s finished.”

“In my 71 years I have searched for a moisturizer that calms my reactive, dry skin, does not contain fragrance that irritates my eyes and does not cause makeup to pill. I have tried some very nice products from Sisley, Biologique Recherche, Chanel and even Vanicreme. This is by far my favorite and addresses my skin imperfections the best. I wish the price point was a bit less.”

    Most Helpful 1* Review

“This cream is WAAAY too overpriced for what it is. It’s got good ingredients but none that would justify the $230 price tag, seriously over $200 for avocado oil and tons of other inexpensive ingredients you can find in much more effective AND more affordable products. There’s nothing about this product that justifies its price, it doesn’t even have a fancy bougie packaging and instead is in a cheap plastic jar, not even glass for this overpriced basic product, and any potential antioxidants in the product that would maybe help justify the price are completely worthless because of the jar packaging. Do not buy, there are TONS of less expensive options—even ones from the drugstore—that have similar ingredients, but with more impressive results.”

    RETINOL 0.5
A powerful retinol night cream to combat anti-aging.
      • Price: $80
  • Good For: Retinol Users
  • Retinol 0.5 from Skinceuticals is a highly concentrated retinol treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. Retinol is a form of Vitamin A, known for its powerful anti-aging and skin-renewing properties.

This product is formulated with 0.5% pure retinol and is suitable for those with experience using retinol products and are looking for a higher concentration. It is recommended for use at night, as retinol can make skin more sensitive to sunlight. Retinol 0.5 also contains additional ingredients, such as nourishing emollients and antioxidants, to help reduce the risk of irritation and support skin health.

    Most Helpful 5* Review

“I am working my way up to SkinCeuticals Retinol 1.0 and have been happy so far with the results from the 0.3 and now 0.5. My skin looks a lot smoother and dare I say – younger! I started on this regime after seeing my best friend’s results – also pretty amazing. I am 40 and I do not have a ton of wrinkles / lines but the ones that had formed have significantly lessened in appearance – as was my friend’s case. I am very careful about putting on sunscreen as I am more sensitive as a result of this cream (and others I use). I highly recommend this brand and this specific cream!”

“I have used Retinol 0.5 and 1.0 previously from other companies and never had any issues. As with my other products, they helped unclog and exfoliate my skin. I had a different reaction with this product. It would create dried blotches of skin and red rashes especially on my forehead.”
